PLAYERS RULES

1. BE RESPECTFUL. Anyone caught causing or engaging in OOC drama of any sort will be given a warning. Two warnings for this and you're out. In severe cases you might be thrown out on a first offence.

2. NO GODMODDING. (writing out another character's actions/thoughts/reactions without that character's author's consent and/or cooperation.) Characters stating opinions, impressions or even lies do not constitute godmodding.

3. ACTIVITY & ABSENCE: Every character is expected to post or join a thread at least once a month and needs to be an active part of ongoing game wide plots. If you won't be available, you must inform the mods. Repeated requests for hiatus can result in being asked to leave the game.

Activity checks will be run roughly once every month. Once you have been activity checked, you have one week to post or explain to us why you haven't posted. If we do not hear from you or see a post from at least one of your characters, you will be removed from the game.

4. CHARACTER LIMITS: As of September 3rd, 2009, there will be a maximum of 10 characters per person. Anyone who has more than 10 at this time will be allowed to keep them. However, no one will be allowed to pick up new characters until the are under the 10 characters.

5. DROPPING CHARACTERS: If you drop a character, it will be immediately available to other players. You will also be required to wait a month before picking another character unless you have prior mod approval.

6. KILLING CHARACTERS: Characters killed in game will not be available for resurrection for a year following his or her death.

7. COMPLAINTS: If you have complaints or problems about the game, please get in touch with the mods. We will try to remedy the situation to the best of our abilities.


GAME PLAY

1. GAME TIME: The game is set in 2024 and runs in real time eg. 12 Jan 2009 real time = 12 Jan 2024 in game. Backdating should be used with care, and only when necessary. The same goes for placeholders, and those should be filled within 48 hours of posting. Should the placeholder action be pending completion of events in another thread, exceptions can be made.

2. ADULT THEMES This is an adult game and will feature sex, violence, death and anything else that might happen in life. Therefore you must be 18 years old. No exceptions.

3. THREADS: All role-play must be done via threading in the main game comm in third person past tense. No IM chat logs, netspeak or one liners. Please use good grammar, proper spelling, full sentences and paragraphs. The exceptions to the above rules are Owl Posts. These can be in first person present tense and can be replied to in first person, present tense. However, these types of posts will not count towards the activity minimum.

4. POSTS Format:

Subject Line: RP: {Title or name or simply name of the characters involved} or Note: From {Character name} to {Character name} or Owl: From {Character name} to {Character Name}

All text must then go under a cut.

Tags are mandatory; please remember to tag your posts (Character names, place, time). For more information on place tags see this post (flocked).

5. In Character Actions = In Character Consequences (ICA=ICC). Please think carefully about what your character will do. If your character does something stupid, he/she will have to deal with the consequences. The other players will not have to consult you when reacting and their characters' reaction does not have to conform with YOUR expectations. This is NOT Godmodding.

This means that if your character puts himself in danger, he might even end up dead. There will be no handwaving, no retconning, no deleting of threads that went bad.


CREATING YOUR CHARACTER

1. CHARACTERIZATION: Everything must start from canon. We are canon compliant up and including the epilogue. Ginny and Harry are married at the start of the game, so are Astoria and Draco. Things however will divert starting 2006, and the outcome is up to the players.

2. PBs: The approval or otherwise of PBs remains at the sole discretion of the mods. Please choose an appropriate PB for your character taking into account age and any description given in the books.

4. SLASH AND RELATIONSHIPS We welcome ships of all kinds as long as they seem logical and well built up. Relationships established within the epilogue must be considered, though divorces happen and we are all aware of that. If an established Epilogue relationship is not where you'd like to go, please establish together with other player the backstory of the separation/divorce or play it out in game.
